I write stories. Mine. Yours. Your family’s. Your company’s. Your customer’s.
I’ve been writing professionally for more than 30 years and was first published as a teenager in my hometown newspaper. I got my start in journalism and then branched out to business publications (internal and external), educational/grant writing, and business documentation (policy manuals, procedures, and instructions).
I’ve been an investigative reporter, an information researcher and curator, an editor, and a publisher. I’ve written for, edited, and published newsletters, newspapers, and magazines (both digital and online). My personal writing projects include 5 book manuscripts, a couple of short story collections, and some terrible poetry.
I’ve written a little bit of everything, but I wasn’t just a writer during those decades. I’ve also gathered experience in marketing, sales, customer service, project management, and quality assurance and control. I’ve managed people, departments, publications, and businesses, including a few that I’ve owned.
I’ve enjoyed all of that, but what I’ve loved most were the opportunities I’ve had to teach, train, coach, and mentor others—helping them tell their stories in writing. That’s what led me here. That’s the foundation and sustenance of The Beach Writer website and Janda Writing and Consulting.
As The Beach Writer, I encourage you to think of writing as a natural experience, to view writing as a simple gathering and arranging of words to communicate the stories you already know and want to share. I mix words with sun, sand, and water as a reminder that we are all part of an endless cycling and recycling of the creativity that surrounds us. I’m here to help from start to finish—to inspire, encourage, advise, mentor, and if needed, write the words for you.
We all have stories to tell. I want to help you write yours.
